Romanzen für Violine und Orchester G-Dur op.40 und F-Dur op.50

Bevor Beethoven sein Violinkonzert veröffentlicht, erscheinen von ihm zwei Romanzen für Violline und Orchester. Er begründet damit zugleich eine neue Gattungen der Violinromanze, die von späteren Komponisten wiedr aufgegriffen wurde.
